I've read only 14 of the 40 books on the SACE Stage 2 list for English Literature. It's unlikely I'll be teaching Stage 2 English out of the gate (which will mean recommending books from this list), but you never know. I want to be ready.
My personal goal as of last week is to read every title on the list by the end of the year (2019). Now, I must admit I have a dubious relationship to numeracy, but even I can do the math: that's 1.6 books per week for the next 4 months.
Easy, right?
I just finished Kazuo Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go, to which I had a strong, less-than-positive, reaction, the subject of which will be my next blog post.
In fact, I think I'll dedicate this blog not just to pedagogical reflections but also to amateur book reviews. What do you think?
